May 2015
Finally finished my trash bin (it's blue one on the left)

Put trash in it today for the first time (finally). Have plenty stacked up for the coming weeks.

Pretty misty morning today on the way to work, around 6:30am.  Although it may look like impending rain in the photos, it didn't in real life.

New Saw

I bought a new 36" bow saw.

Supposed to cut small trees and branches almost as fast as a chain saw, and without (most of) the danger, weight, and accessories (gas, oil, chains, etc.)

Many people in WV carry a chainsaw with them in case a storm hits and causes trees to fall across the road.

This is thin enough to fit behind the rear seat in the truck, and doesn't need any oil or gas stored along with it.

Been awhile since I've updated the blog.

Here are some pics from the last year or so...

Brush Hog.

Brush hog was getting pretty sad, so I did a mild rebuild.

You can see the bow in the front here:

Blades were in sad shape

Deck support replaced and reinforced

Added a chain guard

New blades, hub and stump jumper

Painted the deck after drilling a much-needed hole to access the blade retaining nuts

Turtles

Here's a box turtle. They're fairly common in the spring

Old Camper

Before pic

Partially dismantled

Jennifer did a bunch of work to get to this point

Derecho Damage

Derecho (like a tornado but with straight wind instead of cyclonic) came through last year around June.

Took out this black walnut tree - and we were going to park the camper under it

Next trip - late August 2013. Hopefully will take more pics...

November

We spent a week in November dropping off the tractor and working on the property (and freezing at night).

I spent most of my time tearing the side off the barn, salvaging the lumber, and filling in the hole

Lotsa junk inside the barn. I cut the big hole in the LH side so I could fit the tractor in there for the winter

This is where we'd like to put a cabin
